The Health and Safety Executive recently revised Health and Safety Guide 168: Fire Safety In Construction. This guidance note details and illustrates the requirements for maintaining fire safety for construction workers and other relevant persons during all phases of building projects, with specific requirements for maintaining means of escape and fire precautions. It is also a requirement to ensure a suitable fire risk assessment is completed and reviewed throughout the project.

AFS can assist your project management team with the assimilation of this guidance into your site safety and evacuation plans to ensure technical compliance and fire risk management through to successful handover upon completion.

AFS can assist by providing training for site staff, contractors and project managers including those undertaking fire awareness and fire warden roles. AFS can also provide site plans for evacuation and fire safety precautions.

If you would like to discuss your construction project's fire safety needs, please contact us directly.
